Keeping a facegen face?
Interestingly, I rolled a facegen as a GM that looks quite a bit like me! So I am interested in how I find out this ID or whatever it would be called of this image (or its values) and re-use it in other leagues.
Is this possible? ![]() Ok, but seriously.... |

I probably shouldn't have posted that pic. Honestly, I wanted to know if this is possible to do - keep a facegen configuration and utilize it in different leagues. Is there a file where I can get this info and swap it from file to file?

I don't think anyone has figured out how to get facegen faces into/out of OOTP.
Is it possible to import your own photo into the manager photo? I've never checked and I don't have OOTP in front of me. If so, you could do a screen capture and import it next time you start a game. I really think it would be great to have some customization of the facegen stuff in the future, including the ability to import/export. Imagine being able to make facegen versions of major leaguers from their pictures so that you can have their uniforms change as they go from team to team. It would be very cool.

So, if I can do most of it, it shouldn't be beyond possibility to get it into the next version... |

As redsoxford mentioned, he has found away to extract the .fg file from the game .dat files. His importer/exporter allows you to overwrite the FaceGen .fg files for specific players. Start at about post 27 of this thread and there is some discussion on the process. The SI FaceGen demo now lets you save .fg files so you can use the PhotoFit option with your face and put it in the game.
OOTP does not support the facial texture that is lifted from the photo by FaceGen - this has embedded .jpg info. And as mentioned, OOTP will accept the structure of the face via the .fg file, but will adjust it to the age & weight of the player you are importing the .fg file to. It is a slow process since you have to go back into the player profile for each .fg file you changed and regenerate the image using the "Same Picture" function. I have used the process on several of my solo league's players and while the result is not the quality you see directly in FaceGen, the likeness of the image is enough to make the process worthwhile.

Not sure if this is what was asked, but to use the same pic in diffrent leagues, couldn't you find the player/gm ID number, find that pic in the folder, rename it in the form of firstName_Lastname and then put it in every league you created as long as your name was the same. The game uses names first then ID's so as long as you kept your name the same you should be able to move the pic to each league without worring about what ID you got in that game.
