Minor league questions

Greetings,

I am in the process of setting up a fictional league and have a question about the minor leagues. I wish to use either one or two levels of minor leagues. If I use one league, which level would be best to use? If I use two, which two levels would be best to use? I would like to use the best set up so as not to hinder the minor league player development too badly.

Thanks.

It's been a while since I set up my fictional league (Majors, AAA, AA, A), but I believe you set this up when you set up your league. It seems that most of the rookie players have ratings around 13-14. Players in my AAA league are over 50.

The fewer leagues you have - the bigger the difference between player ratings you have in each league. Some users, to avoid this, have the 3 minor leagues that I do plus a Rookie league.

How balanced your leagues are will definitely have an effect on player development. Success breeds increased ratings, poor performance usually brings a drop in ratings.

In short, I recommend 3 or 4 minor leagues.

Thanks. I guess I will go with the A-AA-AAA setup and see how that works.

Good choice. I'd like to have a Rookie league also (to minimize rating hits) but it would result in too much time.

Right now I play out all the Major League games and all of the Single A games. The reason I play out all of the Single A games is so I can evaluate for myself how the youngest players in my organization are doing (and what their potential is).

If I added a Rookie league, I would be forced to play out the games from 3 leagues to get the same results that I am now getting from playing out just 2.
