Will OOTP 8 be importable in OOTP 9?

Considering taking advantage of the pre-order offer for OOTP 9 but I'm pretty far into my budding dynasty with OOTP 8. Will my progress so far be completely importable into the new version? I'd love to be able to just install 9 and keep moving like nothing changed.

I'm sure that you can, but OOTP (and many others) recommend that you install new versions between seasons. That will go a long way in avoiding unhappy experiences.

I'm just finishing my current season and will not be starting another one until the new version comes out. Once I finish a season I do things like: print out stat sheets for the league & all the teams in my organization, evaluate the upcoming draft, conduct the draft (and pre-draft trades), re-arrange my players (to accommodate the new players), etc. Between seasons I plan to rename some of my minor league teams, redo many of the uniforms, and modify the minor league schedules. These things should keep me busy until the new release comes out.

Yes. But, I agree with Ambermonk that it's probably always a good idea to do this between seasons. Not for any stability reasons, just because you could potentially change the behavior of your league in the middle of a season, which could be jarring for your league!
