MLB Quickstart in version 9
I am wondering if the problems alot of people had with the quickstart with version 8 has been fixed for version 9. I'm talking about the 2008 season quickstart that is advertised with version 9 about to be released. The 2008 season quickstart that came out with version 8 was flawed and caused a lot of people's game to crash with the OOTP8 version.
Has this been worked out and tested? That was the major reason I bought the OOTP8 version, and it didn't even work. I am hoping it doesn't happen again. ![]()

Well, I guess my question would then be; Is it the exact same quickstart that came out with OOTP8 or has it been changed because of the problems it had? In other words, is the OOTP9 MLB Quickstart different from the one that came out with version 8?

I'd really like to know if the quickstart is the exact same one that came out with version 8. That's a feature I'd like to use, but won't if it's the same one.
I already pre-ordered, so it's not the main selling point for me with this version, but I'd just like to know so I don't start a season of doom again. ![]()

Does this mean anything, or are you just playing with a "Magic 8 Ball?"

Ok....I'm trying to ask a serious question. I'm not against you having fun playing with your toys and all, but maybe you could talk about it in another thread, like "Off Topic."
Seriously, anyone in the know, know the answer to my question? I'm sure alot of people who had the same problem with the quickstart would like to know.

Sure it is. The beta testers should know and the game creaters should know if it's the same quickstart.

Which is why he said the time machine is broken. OOTP9 isn't going to be released any time soon and the beta testers are all under agreements not to talk much (if at all) about the game.

Also, I don't see why people couldn't know if it's the same quickstart being tested or not.

I'm in no way affiliated with the game, so take my turn of phrase however you want to take it. June 1st makes sense, but a delay wouldn't surprise me.

I'm no beta tester so I don't know anything specific, but they did say that OOTP9 will have Opening Day 2008 Rosters. I didn't play with the last Quickstart, but weren't they OD 2007? So, it at least won't be the same exact quickstart.

No, version 8 had a 2008 MLB quickstart. Which had serious flaws. I was just curious if version 9 was going to use the same one, and if so, has it been re-worked/fixed, or is it a different one all together.

I'm guessing that whatever problems with the OOTP 8 quickstart will be addressed by the time OOTP 9 is released. I saw the principals involved taking feedback notes but since it OOTP 8 was released so late in 2007, it was not feasible to edit and release another quickstart before the next version cycle started. Besides, were those problems that bad? (I'm like Andy - fictional player, only dabbled around a bit with that quickstart.)
