Why? Basically being able to set the format for the World Baseball classic/World cup is practically the same as setting up a customizeable playoffs with the only diffrence being that you set the season length to 0 games, and then you make all your playoff options how you want it as though you were setting up a new league.

Hoping to get some feedback on what these changes are before I preorder, but I've asked a few times in the pre-order thread and been ignored. Any ideas whom I may be able to contact to get such info?

You'll have to wait until Markus gives the Beta Testers the go ahead to talk in detail about the game. No other info, unless Markus posts something, will be forthcoming. That's the way it is with every release.

Because this has to do with the playoffs for a league, the World Baseball Classic/World Cup has to do with a separate tournament/league with players not playing on their normal teams. If you want to have a set up for a World Baseball Classic/World Cup without a league for the players to come from you can do that now with some work.

I didnt just mean this for just the World Baeball Classic what I also saw was a good way for you,to if you want to set up a tournament for any kind of teams,or even be able to set up a playoffs if you want to withyout going through an entire regular season, which is why I like the idea of being able to set the regular season length to 0 games.

Hopefully, what I could do for the flexible playoff system is set up the league just like the NHL in the 1980's. For the first two rounds, only divisional rivals would play each other. For example, I would seed the Adams division teams 1-4 and 2-3. This kind of playoff setup was great because you would get great intradivisional rivalries in the playoffs every year. Then in the 3rd round the Adams division champ would play the Patrick division champ to see who gets to the Stanley Cup Finals.

The current 1 through 8 setup works well, but I miss the old divisional setup for this reason. For example, nowadays you might get Tampa Bay vs. Montreal in the first round, which doesn't do much for me. This series would work much better in the conference final because there is much more on the line. This late in the playoffs, the Stanley Cup berth is much more important than the divisional rivarly.

Yup. My hope for a couple of versions now has been to have the ability to allow for separate player pools (country origin control) for each team, so that a true World League might be possible without doing heavy editing on the back end.

I ain't holding my breath, but for me it'd be a really nice feature.

My ultimate league would involve such a world league that continued to use the assigned baseball 'worthiness' of each country. As some teams began to improve (or decline), I could than manually edit the baseball skill level of those countries.
