Miami (and Florida) were pretty puny in 1961, as air conditioning was not widespread. That changed in little more than a decade.

Besides, the way this is working out in my head, I'll base a minor league around Florida/Georgia, and another one in Ontario.

Plus, there is always expansion and relocation.

Yeah, but then you'd need new logos, uniforms, etc and therefore not be in the out of the box scenario.

Caution: Need to view cities in the SL1 thread first before voting here.

Why are some cities in both polls?

Will some cities have two teams?

Why not? Some cities have two teams in real life.

Get it straight. You were burned at the stake for attempting to bribe other forum members.

Looks like its almost historical 1960, except Philadelphia wasn't offered as an option while Boston was placed in both polls. Why not, Philadelphia?

Choices were made to make sure that it would be very difficult to perfectly copy the real world setup in 1960. You can come close, but not quite.

So this is going to be a fictional quickstart and not based on real life at all?

It will bear a modest amount of similarity. The stats will be generated based on historical norms, with three levels (probably) of minors, with no free agency. Many cities will be similar, some will be different, so the setup will be a little different. A franchise located in Atlanta, or Los Angeles, might have relocated from Philadelphia instead of Brooklyn, and they might have moved in 1954 instead of 1958.

I've got one of the minors (probably the AAA) entirely in Canada, and I was thinking of putting the AA on the Gulf Coast, and the A level in the Rockies, but I have not discussed that yet.

I could, but not in New York. Content found in "The Natural" would not be a great idea.

There's no reason so far to not use that logo that I can determine. Where did it come from? What's its provenance?

Ah, a wise fellow you are. Yes, my enthusiasm got the better of me.

First of all, I keep stuff that I have collected in my own folders, so I had to backtrack and search to remember where I got those materials. They came from PadreFan's Fictional ABA Quick Start v2.0. As it would not be right for OOTP to officially use his stuff without his permission, I took it down from my previous post.

Second, OOTP may run afoul of copyright protection by associating "Knights" and "New York" without permission from Malamud's estate or the movie producers.

Of course, nothing prevents the private use of these materials, as shown by their inclusion with PadreFan's quickstart game. So, whatever you call the New York team in your quickstart, they may end up being the Knights anyway, to me.

You'd better have given Hamilton a team, or....or I will pout quite sullenly.
