I agree. Good idea.

glad to see that 1961 was chosen

ootp really going after the 60 and older crowd of new customers

oh and the .01% of the general public that's not over 60 that cares about baseball history but still hasn't found out about ootp yet

you need a marketing person to do your marketing, not your current fan base

This is not constructive.

sorry, but i really want ootp's fan base to grow as well - and to do that, you're going to have to go after the crowd that wants to see if they can manage their current favorite team better than their team's current gm...

i wish they'd at least consider a 2008 quickstart to go along with a historical one

it's too late but i think a 1994 one would have been cool - trying to see how baseball would have finished without the strike

Wow! I was going to ask the same question that 84Hammy asked, but the prospect of turning OOTP into a multiple gigabyte download is about as appealing to me as french-kissing a garlic-breathed Margot Kidder without her dentures. Blah!

Nevermind

Um, when zipped, it is less than 20 megabytes.

Okay, so if WinZip or WinRAR can miraculously compress 1.21 GB of data down to a mere 20 megs, then why not simulate and include a complete league history from 1901-1961?

I use 7-zip. The 1.21 gigabytes was a pun, taken from Back to the Future, where 1.21 gigawatts of electricity blasts Marty back to the future. The actual size is closer to 150 megabytes uncompressed.

I heartily endorse 7-zip.
