Quotations?
Odd - I searched for quotations in the forum and came up with very little.
OK, so my question - how can we increase the database of quotations the game uses when loading? Because, honestly, if I have to read about flippin' Willie '37-year-old' Mays reaching home from 1st base again.... |

LMAO!
"The only thing Earl (Weaver) knows about big-league pitching is that he couldn't hit it." - Jim Palmer Yeah, so I am working on adding in quotations for this file. Got a ton of killer ones from the little tornado himself: Earl Weaver Quotes I'll see if I can scare up a bunch more. |

Have you added any yet? The reason I ask is that, regardless of knowing where to find the link, I've wanted to make changes to my own hints.txt, but still haven't. I recall opening it up and seeing, what appeared to be, series of lines after lines. What serves to break up one hint from another? I recall having trouble discerning whether punctuation affected anything at all, or whether each 'quotation' was simply a continuous line. Thanks in advance. Glad you're having some fun with and inspiring me to finally do something with it as well.

I have altered it (not the original, but the upgraded one that is for download in this thread). I added about 15 quotes.
However, I've yet to see them appear in the game. I figure this is because I've only gone through so many menu changes yet. I'll post if they start popping up. |

I got tired of the hints, and emptied my hints.txt file. I don't miss them.

ooooooooooooooo... there's an idea.
so let me ask, if you have an empty file, does it just come up with a box stating what menu it is heading to or whatever? Essentially no text? That might be preferable. When the box flashes too quickly to read, it's really annoying. Better in that case to not even show up as text. |
