Question Question / MLB Roster Set Issues in OOTP 8?

Hi folks,

Looking for a little feedback. In some of the recent posts about OOTP 9, I've seen some references to problems with the MLB roster set from OOTP 8. I've been working hard on some other stuff, non-support related, so I admit I'm not familiar with these issues.

If you had problems with the MLB roster set in OOTP 8, could you please post information about the problems here?

For what it's worth, the OOTP 9 MLB roster set is a completely new file - it's not based on last year's version, so there's no reason to assume it would retain any of the same issues.

Thanks!

Steve

Steve,

There was an issue- that Erich verified- that caused players fielding ratings- all of them- to decline very rapidly. I had a posting about it in the mods forum. Basically- guys like Rollins, Andruw Jones and many others saw their fielding ratings drop from 70's and 80's (overall) to the 20's and 30's in a year or two. I understand range and so forth diminishes over time- but this was ridiculous.

If someone can just pick several gold glove type caliber players in their late twenties and monitor their fielding ratings over a couple of simmed seasons to verify that they are indeed not dropping precipitopusly- it would make me feel a lot better about this roster set. Sounds like it shouldn't be an issue though if this roster set is new from scratch- but it would be nice to know for sure!

Thanks, we'll absolutely test this.

It crashed a lot, too. I haven't had any crashes with OOTP 8 except when using the MLB quickstart, and I've heard the same from others.

It was buggy. I tried to use it a few times and gave up every time.

Game crashing was a huge problem. I was going to link a few threads here, but there are just tooooo many. So, I am posting the main forum where there are 100's of threads reporting crashes.

Logged Issues - OOTP Developments Forums

Thanks
