Winning team to a losing one in a single offseason...
Hi guys.
I started a fictional league called English Championship Baseball, and in season one after the draft (2007), my team compiled a 95-67 record (.586 winning pct), led the league in doubles, and got to the Northern League finals, losing to the eventual ECB champions. This season, after 61 games, we are 26-35 (.426) ,joint last in the division of 5 teams, and leaking runs like nobody's business. It seems that the team's ERA has only gone fractionally up, and the runs scored are similar, so why the sudden losing tendancy? Can anyone also point me in the direction of a useful player development tactic as most of my players seem to be getting worse this season! For exampleI have a 21 year old closer who was rated roughly 55-60-65 last season (out of 100), and now he is rated 50-55-50 and his ERA has gone up by 2! |

Check out some of the game logs to look for reasons. You may have an MR or two or CL blowing saves. I've had the same thing happen to me where I get a huge down season while I'm building a team up. So it might just be some rotten luck or it could be some overvalued guys. Also could be facing off against too many ace pitchers. Lots of factors to look at.

There are examples of this all the time where teams don't play up to expectations or play above expectations (as maybe you did in the first season) ..
That's baseball, is all I can really say ... |

Check your defensive fielding stats from this year to last.
