Because that's what Hamilton is known for: steel. Its nickname is 'Steel Town'. It had a soccer team called the Steelers. There was a brand of beer made there called Steeler...

Do whatever you like with it, makes no difference to me as I'm not interested in the quickstart anyway. My original response was to KQ's suggestions, in particular the name "Navalists" for a Halifax team. I merely pointed out what I thought it should be and why.
