four questions before I buy OOTP9

To anyone who's had the chance to beta-test or otherwise play OOTP9:

1. Do the new aging curves better model real life in the following sense: that to a far greater extent than in OOTP2007, healthy batters whose ratings are ML-worthy in their early 20s will often get better, and will not tend to get signifantly worse?

2. Does the new game easily permit reliever usage a la 1980-or-so, when the best relievers, if also durable, would average a hundred innings per year, often entering tie games or during 1-run deficits?

3. I've done a lot of name-file customization. Are the new name files structured identically, so that I can import my OOTP2007 name files unchanged, or has the structure changed in any way?

4. How much RAM does OOTP9 use, versus how much RAM does OOTP2007 use? If it affects the answer in any way, I'll probably play the new game without sound.

Thanks for any and all answers you can provide. Cheers!

Bump. Question #1 might provoke disagreements, so I could see no one wanting to give a definite answer. But #2 and #3 are straight Yes/No fact questions, and #4 a fact question answerable in numbers. Help with any of these would be nice. Designers? Testers? Someone?

testers are not allowed to comment they signed a no disclosure, haven't seen Markus on all day. No-one else has played 9, and I keep making Markus post on other boards when I post in threads like this

Pretty sure no one could legally provide you with those answers except Markus or Steve. And honestly, I'd rather Markus keep working on coding. And I'm not sure Steve has done enough testing to answer them, either. Probably best to wait until you get a demo and you can answer them yourself.

I will say that I think #1 was kind of addressed in the newsletter. And #4, since OOTP 9 is based off of 8, I wouldn't think RAM usage would fluctuate significantly. If you're referring to the increase in RAM that using sound would cause, as a novice programmer, I would say that if you've got ample enough RAM to run OOTP 8, a little sound isn't going to cause you massive RAM issues. Obviously, YMMV, and I can't guarantee that to be the case. But I don't think we're looking at GTA IV type audio here.
