Schedule Question
Guys, when I finally get my copy of OOTP 9, I am going to setup my baseball universe in 1901 and then quick sim till 2008. However, in my league, I’m only going to schedule 81 games each year, since I will be playing out my games and 81 games is a lot faster than 162. Plus, if the league starts with 81 games and after the quick sim, to build a history, I will have no pre conceived ideas of what numbers are good in each category anyway.
Ok, here is my question to you all knowing wizards. When I setup my league and set the schedule to 81 games in the first year, 1901, will the game default to 81 game schedules instead of a 162 the rest of the years automatically, or will I have to create the 81 game schedule each year? Does anyone know the answer to this? I’d hate to have to create a schedule each year during the quick sim.

It depends on your settings in game set-up.
It also depends on how OOTP9 is set-up for this sort of thing, something only Markus and the Beta testers know for sure.

My question is would the game automatically generate the 80 or 82 game schedule each season?

Can't we export the created schedule before starting the sim, and have the game use the same schedule then for each season? I know I do that with my custom schedule ...

Well, my problem there is I want to quicksim over 100 years and I'd hate to have to stop between each season to import a schedule. I was wondering if the game would keep an 80 or 82 game schedule automaticly for each season?

Unless you make an historical league I cannot imagine the game not keeping the previous season schedule format if no changes are made to the setup. I have never seen the game work otherwise. A two-season test should be sufficient to demonstrate this.

That's true, I just figured someone on here has already done it before, so thought I'd ask to save from setting up a test league.
Thanks though. I'm hoping you're right, but guess I'll have to test it out afterall since no one has been positive about it either way.

I think what you are asking about is something that is taken for granted to the point people almost never think about it. I feel absolutely certain that as I understand your question you do not need to worry about it. But I am only mostly certain that I understand your question.
![]() I say do not worry about it at all. If you had 2006 or 2007/8 you could test with those, or run a test with 9 when it comes out just be eliminate any doubt. |

Ok, I tested it, and it does keep an 8o game schedule year to year. In doing the test, I uncovered another problem though. I started a historical league in 1977, and when I set it up, I had it so it would not import historical stats. But after simming to 1980, I looked at league leaders and it had stats dating back to 1963 and they were full 162 game stats.
What happened there? ![]()
