Some questions about OOTP Baseball

Hello everyone,
I have OOTP 6.5, and I have a few noobie questions.

First off, when I buy OOTP 9, will I be able to convert a 6.5 league over to it?

Also, what I wanted to do today was take real MLB players using the 2007 stats and ratings (starting things off with a fantasy draft), but then have fictional players enter the league in drafts after the first season. Is this possible, and if so, how do I go about doing that?

Sorry for the rookie questions.. just never have tried that.

Answer to your first question - Is OOTP 9 going to be compatible with 6.5?

Yes, you can have fictional players enter the game.

How do I get the rosters and ratings from the real MLB 2007 players in?

There are several rosters available that are made by users which utilize real MLB players. I believe the new version will also contain an MLB quickstart.

Do I need the Lehman database?

The Lahman database is now integrated into the game, so there is no need to download and install it. But I don't think it has anything to do with the MLB quick start anyway.

The Lahman database nows comes with the game (starting in OOTP8). You won't even need a MLB quickstart for the 2007 season, since you can just do 'create historical league' and tell it to start in 2007. Amateur fictional players will enter the league from then on, if you want.

You will need the MLB rosters if you want to start in 2008, however. They should be coming with the game.

I believe his question was about playing with 2007 MLB players in the version 6.5 game that he has "today."

Yes, download the most recent Lahman database. Choose a Historical league and point the game to the place on your computer you put the database.
