at this point i am just getting alternating colors for the grid lines (light, dark)

That's pretty handy. Did you reduce the size of the stars as well, or is that just due to the reduced size of the screen grab?

Oh, and...how'd you do that so we can do it too?

Thanks. That was just an initial attempt. I've since learned to work with transparencies and adjust the colors better. I've done one for both the blue and classic screens. I'll post up the shots after work.

No, the stars just are self-regulated by the system. Smaller as the column width decreases (lots of columns).

Very nice start. It's a shame that you seem to be the only one doing skins. Why aren't there more people doing this?

One thing though - will you have to modify the skin once OOTP 9 comes out?

Because they've made creating skins so time consuming that its not worth it to the creator.

Then all the more credit to Sitting Duck. Way to persevere. Your efforts are appreciated.

No, they are all the same. At least what I can tweak, or have learned at this point. My goal is to take the basics of the 'Modern' skin and totally revamp it, because it has some potential.

My knowledge of the skins grows exponentially each day. But I'm still crawling.

If your knowledge of doing skins is growing the way my knowledge of doing uniforms grew when I was starting out, then you have a lot to look forward to and there should be a lot of satisfaction in your future - and the OOTP community at large will be the better for it.

Excellent. This is something that I have wanted for some time.
Will this be available for version 9?

That's really up to Markus and the devs. I'm posting some new stuff up right now for them to look over. I'm just getting my feet wet now.

Styx and Co - I'll post up a variant for the 'Classic' in a bit. I'll put it in the Mods forum and create a link here for you guys. You'll be able to use it with OOTP8 (and I suppose OOTP2007).

OK, very simple. It's a 2kb file, but I need to upload it somewhere. I've sent a message to FMontoya about getting set up on allsimbaseball.com for future alterations, but that might take a bit.

Dig this setup. I did a dark brown background with darker alternating lines. I like this one the best so far.

The only thing that's stopped me from making a skin is that the release of OOTP 9 is so close, I'm saving up my jammy for the new one.

yeah but won't the skins be transferable to ootp 9? Which would mean the "jammy" could be transferred at any time?

That really is a thing of beauty... the modders for this game, and really any other PC game, do such great work, sometimes I wonder why I even buy consoles.

I don't buy consoles, and I don't wonder. I'm a PC gamer for life.
