OOTP 9: Set a Specific State as a League's Nationality?

Apologies in advance if this has been questioned/answered already - at work on break - no time to search for an answer - but . . .

Are we going to be able to set a state as a league's nationality in OOTP9?

I've been itching to set up a "Border Wars" league where I have, for example, one league that is all teams and players exclusively from Florida playing against another league that is all teams and players exclusively from Georgia.

State of Origin at it's finest.

There is a thread on this somewhere. The details of how this will work haven't been given yet, but I raised a couple of questions about drafts and foreigner limits as to how they would be implemented.

I believe it can be done somehow by editing the nation's.txt file. Don't ask me how I've never tried.

I set every state (and the region of Cape Cod) as individual nations back a few versions ago and someone updated the files to work for OOTP2007. Let me see if I can find them. They should work with OOTP9 once it is released, but who knows if they will for sure.

Edit - Found it. Thanks to darkcloud for updating the file for OOTP2007.

Thanks. I think I'd seen that before, but not sure it can give me what I'm after. I maybe should have said "sub leagues" instead of leagues.

My "prefect" set-up would be, to put it in Major League Terms:

National League would be all one state (ie FL)
American League would be all a different state (ie GA)

No interleague play, and playoffs would be round robin type instead of straight elmination type.

If a third and fourth sub league could be added with two more states, that would be ultimate . . .

I think you could do it, you'd just have to have each state be an "international" league with 0% foreigners and no trading/signing between the two.

It can be done...you have to mess with the cities.txt and nations.txt files, but it can be done. I did it for individual high school teams, so I'm sure you could do it for an entire league.
