Promotion/Demotion: Easier?
With OOTP's ability to have quite a number of minor league levels, I always find myself looking back and forth between my minor league report with the recommendations, and my transaction screen. Going back and forth is kind of a pain, and I don't want to print out my entire minor league setup every time
![]() I was thinking that maybe on the transaction screen, having some arrows (up/down) would allow you to quickly evaluate the situation without having to go back from report to report. Would this be a feasible option to add to the game, or am I completely missing something? ![]() |

The arrows are a pretty decent idea.
What I do in the meantime is open the minors report in an external browser, allowing me to flip back and forth without having to go back and forward constantly in-game.

Just make sure you have a really good scout, or you'll be ending people's careers, sending them up when they're not ready, and down when they're tearing things up!!

one thing that I was thinking about in relation to this is something those of you with firefox internet browsers may have. There's a plug in for firefox called cooliris, where you can pop open a link to another page by mousing over a link that is available. I've been thinking for a while that having something similar in OOTP would be great. If you could mouseover a name in the transaction screen and have a partial page pop up (that is closed when you guide the mouse out of the area where the pop up is) with the information that may be important, especially minor league scouting reports on a player.

Count this as another vote for some sort of promotion option on the minor league screen. I spent more time with the last version flipping between the minor league screens and the transaction screen then i did playing my MLB team's games.

The problem I had was similar. I had always thought a little AJAX treatment to the minors pages would help. That way you wouldn't have to be taken to a different page or worry about a refresh when you right-clicked on a player to promote him.
Personally, I'm not a fan of the html pages except for online purposes or for review. I think all html components should have an equivilent page in the main interface. |
