Why isn't there an index in the manual

Why can't this game have an index search in help or at the very least an index in the manual? It's such a frustration to have to navigate blindly through page after page without ever being able to find what I'm lookin' for. I know... read the manual... 538 pages... I only need a little information. If I wanted to read the encyclopedia Britannica I would, I've already got that. I just wanna play a game.
Sorry about the rant! I'm just so aggravated.

Never noticed that find box. That may have made things a lot easier for the last five or six years. Now where's that damn Adobe index!!!

Umm, there is an index right at the beginning of the manual, and once you find what you're looking for there just type the page number into the menu bar at the top.

No, this is good. People either don't know or forget that the best way to use the manual is to use it electronically, with that search feature and the document hyperlinks (in the 2007 version, that is; unfortunately not the one for OOTP 8 as battists never did resolve the problem that he encountered with its links - here's hoping he has more luck with 9 if he is planning to update it). IMO, people should print only sections of the manual as needed, or for "throne room" reading on topics of special interest.

I knew that wouldn't go without a Seinfeld reference.

Table of Contents at the beginning of the manual (like most written works). Index goes at the end, and references the usage of certain words/terms.
