Question for Markus

I have a question regarding international scouting that has to this point not been answered. How will the fact that you cannot go back and include hidden players affect an imported game, where the scouting system is now very different, and where the budgets include international scouting? What will this mean for imported leagues? What will be the limitations if any?

I can't comment on that with 100% certainity yet, but I think enabling this after the import will not be an option.

Where hidden players are disabled, AI teams will spend that money on scouting amateurs.

ugh...ok, but thank you for answering. This is why I wasn't so much in favor of the way the new scouting system is implemented, but I guess that's the breaks. Thanks for being honest though Markus.

Isn't this basically what is happening now? If you don't have international players, the AI would be scouting other things instead (of course, the AI never scouted internationally before anyhow). The AI still spent the money on scouts, it just never scouted internationally.

That does sort of suck though, since international scouting has been "fixed" it would be nice to be able to turn that option on now.

It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.

Pleased to see you got an answer to your question PSUColonel - after so much persistance!

Thanks for the clarification Markus, it's so unusual for a developer to be so responsive to the player community - its great!!

Does it work if you create a new league with the option enabled, then release all the players, delete them and save it. The save your old league as a template and add it to the new league, then delete the fake league. I think I tried this once and remembered it working okay. I think you may want to make sure the league dates match up though to help limit headaches.

I don't know. It would be nice if this was a good work around.

Markus, I can see where the maintain hidden gems option cannot be turned on, but what does the CPU consider to be international scouting? Hidden players, or players in other leagues that are abroad?

bump...in other words, can international scouting be used for Japan, Korean etc.. leagues, and not hidden players?

Other leagues are handled with the major league scouting if they are not minor leagues...
