In OOTP 2009, Will We Be Able To...?

...manually put a retired player on the coach/scout roster? There's clearly some kind of link in the database, but will we be able to make Greg Maddux a top-notch pitching coach?

Per page 483 of the manual, couldn't you already manually create a fictional pitching coach, give him the name and biography of Greg Maddox, and even assign an existing picture to him??

From what I've seen, you cannot add the player stats....

ive been asking/hoping for this feature, along with some others i mentioned in this thread:
improving personnel for OOTP9

yeah, you can just change a fictional coach into whomever you want but it duplicates people unnecessarily.

I've made a similar suggestion on many occassions that coaches/managers/scouts/players/trainers are basically all one and the same and should be treated as such. Therefore each of them should have the entire gamut of ratings available - a player with good leadership and work ethic for example would over the course of a career develop in leading and teaching and be a good choice to become a manager or coach.

I don't think it's made it into 9, but can but hope for 10...

I'm just hoping they squashed the bug that creates multiple versions of said former player now coach.

I had to turn off coaches because of that
