Face Gen No Longer Works

When I create a fictional league, face Gen no longer works.

Under global set up, all the face gen is disabled.

But in league setup, the face gen buttons are still `live' but they don't do anything.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled OOTP8, but when I try to patch it to 8.013, I get an error message that says to reinstall OOTP8.

Any ideas?

try the different "troubleshooting" modes under facegen mode in options.

Be sure to close OOTP and restart it between modes to make sure it "took". I had some issues with that myself. Troubleshooting mode 2 was what finally worked for me.

Thanks for your reply.

Here's what I found, if this might help others at some time.

Due to occasional power outages, my computer display setting had been knocked down to 16 bit color depth. Every other game I play has worked fine, so I hadn't noticed anything.

Initially, I found some information that the problem was because my 3D card wasn't compatible with Face Gen, but I have an Nvidia 8600GTS, so I kept poking around.

Then I noticed the display settings color depth was set to 16 bit, something I wasn't really looking for, of course, I'd been messing around for like an hour and a half, uninstalling, reinstalling, etc.

Once I set the color depth back to 32 bit, voila! Face Gen was now fully functional once again.
