Financial Question
I am in my first year of my league. It is May and I am looking at resigning some of my better players. When I go to offer an extension to some of them it replies that the player has indicated they will test free agency and will not resign. My question is, can their decsision change? If they will not negotiate with me then I want to unload them now for prospects/draft picks but I don't want to get rid of one of my better players if there is a chance he will change his mind during the season. What has been your experience with this? Should I dump them or can they change their minds?

They might change thier minds if you start winning, or it just depends on what your goal for the team is, if you rebuilding and going to be around .500 then dump them, if your going to be a playoff team, keep them and see how you are doing near the trade deadline.

I've noticed in my limited experience, and it is limited, that players with an overall Very Unhappy morale more frequently than not won't negotiate and players with an overl morale above that will negotiate more frequently than not, and I have noticed they change their mind. So, what I've done on two occasions with players that refused to negotiate is keep an eye out for their overall morale to improve (either from team or player performance), then catch him in a "good mood", and he will negotiate. But, on one occasion I had a player refuse all the way through the middle of June, then when I checked in late June his overall morale was stil Very Unhappy, but he changed his mind and did negotiate, so this must not be set in stone.
