Hmm, I'm not sure how that system works. If you would PM me your email address I'd be happy to email you both files. EDIT: Just curious, you said you'd tried from different computers. Were they also from different providers???? Or were both running through, say...AOL???? Last edited by OldFatGuy : 05-26-2008 at 03:23 PM. |

wbonnell, give these a try. I tested them after I downloaded them and they were ok. Then uploaded them to my server.

What extraction software are you running? Is it integrated with your browser properly? I'll be interested to see what happens once you download the files from another server. I'd be willing to bet that you may have the same problems. But if it works from the other server, then maybe there is an issue with Padrefan's archives, although few people seem to have had any trouble.

I've tried default windows, 7-zip, and winace, and all had problem. However, I can download the same files hosted by edm fine.
So, I wonder what could be the problem...Is there an FTP server available at the padresfan site? |

I recommend using WinZip and WinRAR for all extractions. Maybe those other methods are okay, but I've seen cases where files will not open with the default Windows method, but they will open in something like WinZip.
I don't know about FTP options for Padresfan's website. |

Well, I found the problem with the ABA file. Apparently, in XP only administrators had access to its contents. Once I granted "full control" for everyone, it worked fine.
Still, not to complain (since I appreciate the free hosting), but I don't ever recall having any problems with downloading files before. And I'm comptuer-tech savvy enough to work through most issues. |

Same problem with the garlon archive. Funny that 7-zip (and winrar) reported it as a CRC error for each file rather than a permission issue.
Scratch that; only the one downloaded from the other computer (Windows XP) worked. So, I can download and then transfer to *this* computer but I can't download directly from it (yet). I've tried other file servers, but I have yet to encounter the same problem. So, I downloaded the garlon file hosted by edm and it worked fine. Shrug. For some reason, my browser (firefox) doesn't handshake well with padresfan's website. Hey, lemme try IE... Last edited by wbonnell : 05-26-2008 at 11:22 PM. Reason: incorrect information |
