OOTP9 Compatible with OOTP8?

Will I be able to transfer a solo league in OOTP8 over to version 9? I assume the answer to this is yes, but wanna make sure before embarking on any serious solo gameplay.

No. But you could download the OOTP 8 demo, convert it there, and then import the OOTP 8 league into OOTP 9.

With the caveat that the transfer should be made in the off-season and that everything should be backed-up before the transfer. I've transferred a league from 2006 to 7 to 8 and each time something has fallen off. I'm certainly starting a new project when 2009 comes out.

What sort of things have "fallen off"?

Most notably managers records and ballpark weather both got screwed up. I re-entered the weather information but the other stuff has gone for ever. These weren't game-breakers but the caveat is worth heeding I think.

Thamks for the advice. Looks like I will start a new league with OOTP9.
