replay the last play
A number of times as i play the game i make a mistake and allow a p to hit. it would be nice to have an option to wipe out the play and play it over. it has been present in some other games i have played.

I can't see that happening in OOTP.
'Whoops, my guy just struck out to end the World Series. Let's just do that over again.... Crap, he popped up to second base! Undo! And now he grounds to the pitcher. Man, he's hitting like Neifi Perez. Fly out to left. Line drive to first. Strike out.... ugh.'

i think you took my point the wrong way. I guess if i want to cheat in solo play there may be ways to do that. i don't find that something i want or have to do. What I am referring to is a mistaken play - such as having a Mr hit in the 9th inning when i surely meant to have a ph but just didn't notice it. let's face it if you give the option and someone wants to use it to replay some of the situations you mentioned well i guess there is some satisfaction in that but not something i would be interested in. But thinking about it what really is the problem if someone decides that in the 9th inning of the World Series they want to replay the last out that becomes a Grand Slam home run I happen to be a golfer so what stops me from scoring a 89 and putting either a 85 or a 99 in the computer. Cheating is an option that in many walks of life we can make w/o a problem but at that point we decide whether its an honest mistake or cheating.
Here is the scenario tho. I am playing solo and i have a replay option and decide to play every out my team makes over until i get a basehit or an out when in the field. My team goes 162-0. Now my chest is busting out because i have done one hell of a job of managing- uh this just doesn't seem to sound like something i want to do. the replay option is for correcting a foolish oversight and i know i have played good sims that have the option. i think DMB or SOM have the option. But another point might be can't we put the game in Commissioner mode and control things unfairly? |

Not the same thing but I would like an option to replay the text from the last PbP. I hate it when I start a play, look away, and then see the last few lines and wonder exactly what just happened. I probably wouldn't add a button on the screen for this but a keyboard shortcut would be a nice addition that wouldn't clutter the interface.

On a related note, whenever I have a grand slam I do a screen capture including the PBP for my Archive binder. It would be nice to be able to expand the PBP so that the entire PBP is displayed at the same time. As things stand now, my screen captures capture only the end of the PBP.

Without a PBP rerun feature you can't do anything involving a key press because you would permanently lose the grand slam PBP - defeating the purpose of the screen capture.

I am with Waltwa on this. I have more than a few times allowed a pitcher to bat in solo play in the 9th inning by accident. There are other games that allow this, and as a solo replayer, it would be of great benefit to me.

I've often wished for this, too. SOM has this, and I would use it. The thing about in game play is that it can get monotonous, where you're just kind of hitting the same button again and again, and if you have a lot of distractions around you (like me), you can lose your place and accidentally let someone hit when you didn't intend it.
Not a huge deal, but one of those "it would be nice" things.

Mulligans in baseball??? I don't know about that... yeah, it's easy to say you'll only use it for good and not evil. But as someone who likes to follow other people's solo leagues from the dynasty section, the next time I see someone win the seventh game of a world series on a walk off hit, I don't want to have to wonder if it was a 'do over'.
As for seeing the last play. I thought ootp had a 'replay' button you could use to see the last play over again?

Am I being extremely dense (I don't often play games out), but isn't there a scrollbar on the pbp window so you can scroll up and re-read what happened in the play? I'm almost certain I've done this myself in the past... unless I was just imagining it
