If you click the link above and go to Devlopment then to Team Atlanta Braves and then scroll down to Nick Markakis it says the following.

Well, in this example all of the decreases are in bold and the increases are not. Is that the same with everyone?

But really all I want to do is play.

So I'll try harder to be patient and hopefully the board will be patient with me.
And yes, I am still continuing my campaign to promote adding a 'mass select' option to Out of the Park 10.

Isn't it obvious? HP=hit points. OOTP is moving toward a D&D, Everquest type win or die trying game.

I've no idea obviously.

Power is already listed seperately, so HP probably doesn't mean home run power. The only category that doesn't seem to be otherwise mentioned is what used to be called 'Gap', or double/triples power. Could that be it?

So he's become less skilled at getting hit by a pitch??? This has always seemed to be an odd batting rating. It's almost entirely dependent on the pitcher - you don't see people saying that a player has an ability to draw a plunk...

That is no OOTP report... I do not know what HP means. All I know is that the HP rating in the game never changes.

I think that's one of Getch's online utilities. The HP rating may never change but since it's part of a scouting report (hidden) , it's possible that a scout misvalues it.

Agreed, though a rare skill, I think some players are absolutely better in baiting a pitcher into a HBP. Chase Utley is another current player that comes to mind. Also, Dave Hollins, back in the day for the Phils, would stand on top of the plate and dare the pitcher into throwing inside. Then he would stand there like a brick and take it off the bicep, without even blinking.

Since Nick is Greek I just assumed that HP stood for Helenic Philosophy and that his rating changes reflected his ongoing assimilation into the American cultural bias.

Talk about your detailed simulation! I stand in awe, Markus.
