One curse ends early this week

So I'm in 1934 and the World Series is the Red Sox vs. the Cubs. What makes it even better is I'm managing the Sox in my first OOTP series. Even better than that is that my first major league job (after 3 yrs in minors) was with the Cubs, who fired me after a 2nd place finish.

It's revenge time. And I'm sure the legend of the Cubs curse in my universe will come to include the bone headed move they made firing me.

And I think this post will bump me up to AA if I'm not mistaken. A good OOTP week overall. Now I just need to win.

You were right, Markus, I think I cursed myself with my arrogance. I blew a 3 games to 1 lead to lose by one run in game 7. Lost games 5&6 by a combined 15 runs.

OH THE HUMANITY!!!!

I guess the fact that the Babe is still playing in 1934 makes the Sox a bit more cursed yet.

So I just finished 1935 and the curse is still in full effect. I had a great season, destroying the rest of the American League by 16 games. I also led both leagues in nearly every category, led by MVP Wally Berger. The series was me (red sox) vs. cross town rivals the Boston Braves, who had no offense but great pitching.

Long story short, I get swept. My team makes eleven Buckner-like errors which all lead to runs. My record setting closer who was untouchable during the season blows an easy save in game one. I lose three of the games by one run, another by two.

I'm convinced the red sox curse is programmed in. Can't be my managerial ability, could it? At least the Babe retired this year, maybe that will cut me some slack.
