Ya know, just because you've already pre-ordered doesn't mean everyone else has as well. The point of these is to convince people who haven't ordered yet to go ahead and do so.

The release date hasn't changed based on him adding these two new features. It's stuff he's decided to add after "feature lock" because he wants to make the game better. He's not pushing the release date back to introduce this "stupid [expletive deleted]", which means he's adding hours onto his days because he's going to have to push even harder to fine tune everything before the release.

He could've sat on his laurels and gone only with what the original feature list had, but instead he's been adding more. I'm not sure how that deserves a bitter rant.

I guess the saying "You just can't satisfy everyone" is really true because some people are just never satisfied.

Yes the news letters are importaint, but how is this teasing the fan base most of which that will read this have already pre-ordered, going to convince people who haven't to go ahead and do so.

True, the release date is the same, sometime around the 20th, nor has a full feature list even been released so no-one really knows if there has been a "feature lock", knowing Markus from past experiance he will be adding things uptill the last patch is out.

This isn't about the release date or what the Feature list is. This is more about him pooking his fan base with a stick and pretty much saying "I have news but I'm not going to tell you..." One of the things that drove so many people away was the 2006 build up that it would be able to do so much and then it couldn't possibly live up to doing all those things in such a short period of time, V2007 and V8 are finally dilivering on that build up.

Adding more is a great thing, posting "I no something you don't" is what my bitter rant is about.

I don't think he's doing it to poke fun. I think he's honestly excited about the new features and wanted to say something, anything, but he can't commit to spilling the specifics until the features have passed through enough testing to be sure they stay in.

Markus doesn't strike me as a guy with nefarious motives. I think he just wanted to excite the community, not poke fun at them.
