I'd personally love to see very basic ball flight animations (like in the Strat-o-matic computer baseball games or Total Pro Golf, etc.) where you could see where the ball went as the game text describes it, etc. When I played the Strat computer game, I always liked seeing the ball heading for the fence and knowing that my guy had hit a HR based on the ball flight. I completely agree that the engine and realism in the game is far more important than any graphics, but I think that basic ball flight graphics could potentially be added without sacrificing that at all, like in Strat, where it's still completely based on the cards, though I'm not sure if Markus has any interest in doing that, and if there's no interest in it or it's deemed as unfeasible for whatever reason, that's fine with me, too.

We had non-arcade animations years ago with earl weaver, then tony larussa, then high heat. No reason we couldn't have it now. OOTP with some modern tony larussa like one-pitch animation would be video game nirvana for me.

really? You couldn't just switch over to the webcast screen and play the way you always play? couldn't you just toggle it off since almost every feature in OOTP can be toggled.

I have an Xbox 360 and I understand millions of people all over the world play head to head on-line. That doesn't interest me one bit. I suck at joystick games, I set the thing to the easiest possible level and have a blast playing with my son - but for the life of me saying "I'm not going to play because you added online play!"

The overwhelming brilliance of OOTP to me is the flexibility to play the games the way you want to play them. As long as he still offers 9 inning games, with 3 outs an inning – I am in.

Speaking of that... it'd be nice to be able to adjust the number of innings in a game, wouldn't it?

We had non-arcade animations years ago with earl weaver, then tony larussa, then high heat. No reason we couldn't have it now. OOTP with some modern tony larussa like one-pitch animation would be video game nirvana for me. again my pet peeve, is the if you do X I won't play anymore! really? You couldn't just switch over to the webcast screen and play the way you always play? couldn't you just toggle it off since almost every feature in OOTP can be toggled. I have an Xbox 360 and I understand millions of people all over the world play head to head on-line. That doesn't interest me one bit. I suck at joystick games, I set the thing to the easiest possible level and have a blast playing with my son - but for the life of me saying "I'm not going to play because you added online play!" The overwhelming brilliance of OOTP to me is the flexibility to play the games the way you want to play them.
