I think he means the ability to import it lahman style. When u import a historical league manager histories don't import along with player histories

Not one new feature made me think "meh.. I don't really care about that".

I can't wait.

Not buying OOTP9 as I've barely used OOTP8 since I got it (still setting my league up!) but that's some nice new toys.

Some things to think about for the replay option down the road:
  • Set save criteria. (No hitters, milestones, etc)
  • Have the replays linked in players histories for different achievements.

Sim replays are cool.

Just be sure it doesn"t mess up the stats by adding to it everytime you replay it.

But 3 minutes * 30 ballparks...that's an hour and a half right there.

Clicking on 5 or 6 points on the image would probably only take...oh, 5 or 6 seconds per park.

I didn't see either of these coming for OOTP9. The replay feature is pretty cool and never even thought of it.

I gotta ask - did you have the mild animation idea or did we give it to you? Or, if you did have it but were unsure, did my little poll push you over the edge on it?

Either way, I just marked the release date on my calander!

Looks REAL GOOD, Marcus!!!

It's gonna be kind of a nightmare to configure these, especially if your parks aren't all identically photographed.

I suggest that, in future, all one should need to do is identify home plate and then "draw lines" to the outfield wall? Or, at the least, identify home plate, the left field corner, left center, etc. and then have the game auto-fill the other positions? It should be fairly simple math for the game to calculate those locations based on a few key ones.
I think the system as it appears in the screenshot looks great. I would cast a strong vote against the "draw lines" method. Mogul had something like this in its last version and if you didn't have a pic with home centered at bottom of screen and both foul poles pictured, you got some really wacky ball paths.

Gets very problematic with older parks where it's hard to find photos with both foul poles in them.

How does OOTP9's system deal with park photos (like Cleveland's League park photo in one of the mods) that don't picture the entire field? Or show it from a strange angle? I'm assuming it works better than mogul's but how do you show a home run curving around the foul pole if you've got no foul pole in your shot?

will setting up the ball locations also set up the fielders? or do we have to do both now.

I'm hoping that the Action button that you see in the lower right of that screen will have an option to "Assign batted ball locations to all parks" like you can do with player coordinates now. That works well if you have a series of similarly-dimensioned ballpark pictures like the Bogart collection that I use.
