Can we start a game using real MLB team names with fictional players?

I didn't find this anywhere in a search.

Will we be able to quick start a new game in OOTP9 with real MLB and Minor league team names using fictional players, or will we have to edit all team names?

Thanks

Only real player names will be available. The game will have Lahmann's database built-in, that's all. The recent court decision ruled that player's names and stats were public domain, but the team names and logos are still property of the respective teams and/or MLB.

You will have to edit the team names and import your own logos for your MLB setups. Of course, the community will likely provide an easy route to this end...

Once you have a real MLB league set up you can empty all rosters, delete all free agents and then create new fictional players to fill the league to get what you want.

Yes, you can create a real MLB league in OOTP. Just import from Lahman, then release all players to FA. Delete all FA's and then fill your teams with fictional players.

No editing of team names required.

I thought I'd already said that.
