Need a helper on small project

I need 1 person to edit a file that lists team names, league names, city, state, country, team abbreviation, team affiliation, and stadium name. The guts of the file were written by LGO. I have significantly edited it, and made a big addition, too.

The file is nearly done. The file is in Word 2007 format.

I need the team abbreviations for most of the minor league affiliates. There are approx 150 to look up.

I need this done in the next day. I am tied up on a separate project (fictional. quick).

PM me if interested.

When done, it will be sent to the mod section and used as a reference file for all to use.

Dogzilla,

Thanks for your offer!

Someone already emailed me the data.

When I get home, it will be posted here.

Team abbreviations? You should have asked me. I've got a huge list consisting of a standardized, uniform minor league team abbreviation list.

LGO,

I tried this AM. I figured you would be as busy as I. I wanted a file in web layout format with specific data that looked a specific way.

You'll see that the work is pretty derivative. Want to double check the abbreviations?

The GCL and AZL teams are named that way rather arbitrarily for my purposes.

You want just a few from him? Brevity is not one of his strong points.

First, an explanation:

While working on the minor league schedules, I originally just created team abbreviations on the fly as I needed them. After awhile I realized that wasn't the optimal way to go. So, I sat down and created a uniform, systematized abbreviation approach which gave a unique three-letter abbreviation for every city/town which has ever hosted a minor league team. There are no duplications and the abbreviations do not use any of the abbreviations used by Retrosheet/Lahman database.

This list still needs to be cleaned up some and some additional locations and leagues added, but at present it contains 1,621 unique abbreviations.

Ten random examples:

Albany, GA = ABY
Albany, NY = ALB
Brooklyn, NY = BKN
Great Falls, MT = GRF
Hartford, CT = HFD
Las Vegas, NV = LVG
Morristown, TN = MRT
Paris, TX = PAR
Paris, KY = PAK
San Francisco, CA = SFR

I'll make a counter-offer file with abbreviations. I'll try to get that posted up tonight or tomorrow.

My version of the file is attached below. Abbreviations in bold are those that I've changed from the original file.

In the case of major league teams, I opted for consistency with historical leagues and used Retrosheet/Lahman abbreviations. For minor league teams, the abbreviations come from my own list. Note that every team uses a three letter abbreviation, and there are no duplications (e.g. Portland in the PCL and Portland in the EL use different abbreviations). Some of the abbreviations used may seem like odd choices, but that's because the more obvious abbreviation are already used for another city/town in the abbreviation file I created.
