Has anyone ever created . . .

a tutorial on how to create your own schedule files? In another thread it was suggested I create such a tutorial but I don't want to recreate the wheel if it's already out there.

I know there must be a better way than I do it but if there isn't a tutorial in the community I'll create a nice tutorial walking through my process.

I've never seen one, but I sure would like to. Perhaps, if you want to create one, perhaps you should contact other schedulers so as to exchange ideas in order to have the most comprehensive piece of advice possible.

Talk to gmo. He's created loads of fictional schedules.

Those threads are VERY helpful but I was thinking something a little more step-by-step. The tech details are obviously important but leaves a little room for 'ok but how do I actually plan the whole thing out.'

thanks.

True, just thought I'd post them, I thought I saw something else but couldn't find it

Riverdome, I for one would be really interested - and grateful! - to see such a tutorial. My own efforts so far have only contributed mountains of scrap paper to our local re-cycling program, to say nothing of resulting in significant hair loss.

Same here, minus the hair loss . I write out schedules by hand and then copy the games into the schedule file. This is fine, except that it's massively time consuming and massively error prone.

Ok I'll do it. I started looking through my stuff last night and it shouldn't be THAT difficult to convert what I do to a common 'format' that everyone can understand. My goal is to get it out before OOTP9. See my avatar for my excuse should I miss that deadline.

That is the exact kind of thing a spreadsheet app like Excel is perfect for. And with a few simple formulas, you can use it to convert your schedule into the proper OOTP format.

If there's interest, I can make available the Excel files I use. (Won't be until after OOTP 9 is out though, I've too much to do before then.)

I know I would appreciate it, thanks Riverdome and LGO. I just haven't had the time to sit down and learn it myself, both schedules and using Excel to do it.
