Best Player League Questions

I am looking at putting together a league consisting of the best players for each team for the 50 year period from 1950 to 2000. I plan on using 1977 as my first year because it has all the team that have enough history and will then give me the basic structure and schedules. Given this I have a couple of questions.

1. When I import Willie Mays he will be 47 years old. How will the game deal with this? Do I edit his birth date so that he is 20 as he was when he debuted in 1951?

2. By the same token, when I import Alex Rodriguez, he will be only 2. Probably not much of a hitter at that age.

3. Do I leave the recalc on? If so, how will it deal with players that were not playing during the years in question? If I turn the recalc off, will some of these players not turn into the hall of famers that they actually became? I do not want this.

Any help will be appreciated.

They'll be whatever age they were in the year you import them from. For example, if you import Willie Mays from the DB year of 1961, he'll be 30 years old. If you import him from 1956 he'll be 25.
