OOTP 8 Crashing! Help please!

I run XP on a great computer. I own OOTP 2007 and never had any issues. I bought OOTP 8 and started a quick start game that came with this version. Everything was fine for around 20 games, and now all of a sudden, everytime I go to my "Minor League System" screen and click on a player, my game crashes and kicks me out. I am using the latest version too, 8,0,0,13. Below is a photo of the crash message.

This is a known bug. I believe it's #368.

The only workaround I know of is simply not clicking on a player's HTML page. Thankfully there isn't any info on the HTML page that isn't in the players' profile.

Download my newest utility, ScoutingTracker! Development tracking for leagues that use scouting! And yes, there are graphs...

Try out my Development Tracker... it's got graphs! and... stuff...

Check out TeamRater Lite 1.2.2! No graphs, but it's got stuff, too!

Well, it's good that this bug is known, but my question is, is it being worked on or are we just moving on to OOTP 9?

Presumably, this is only in the MLB Quickstart leagues that you create? I believe that other types of leagues should work fine, of note.

There have been no announcements regarding further patches.

If this is the case, I would strongly sugguest that the "MLB Quickstart" feature of OOTP 8 not be advertised as a selling point for the version. That was the reason I bought version 8 and it doesn't even work and now there's no support for it. Not cool to advertise a broken feature without some kind of disclaimer. Something like

"Buy OOTP 8 which has a MLB Quickstart that allows you to have a already setup MLB universe to use. It doesn't work worth shlt, but it's a new feature."

Crashes are always a disappointment. No getting around it. Well, speaking of getting around it, and I haven't tried it, if viewing the html is important - which it is to many - try right-clicking, choose Open Player Profile, then (I think it's under History) click the SION Player Page or whatever it's called now (maybe HTML Page). I don't think this has ever been reported being problematic. And, as Nutlaw, I'm sorry too. But it's the best I have to offer.

Since I cannot start a new thread, I am going to post this here:

I bought OOTP 2007 because I was told by Mark Duffy that it had the same system requirements as the previous version of the game (which I owned).

After purchasing it, I found that it would not run under Windows 98SE.

I never got to play the game nor did I ask for a refund. I loved this community and felt as though it were my contribution to the game makers.

Now, I see that OOTP 8 is out and here is what it says on the OOTP Store regarding the game requirements:

Platform: Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista

That's right! It says it is supposed to work under Windows 98 as found on this page:

https://www.elicense.com/ootpdevelopments/store/

So, I downloaded the demo version for my Windows 98 computer.

It crashes immediately.

Can ANYONE please find out if it is supposed to work under 98SE?

Thank you.

Well, I just received an email advising me that I could buy OOTP8 at a special rate before it is officially released.

Just like last year.

So, once again, I go the link where I can purchase it, and I see that it still says the game works on Windows 98.

Okay, last year, I was nice and did not ask for a refund. (And I never got to play a single game.)

But, now I am really beginning to wonder about you guys. Don't you think you have a responsibility to your customers to CORRECTLY TELL THEM WHICH OS THE GAME SUPPORTS?

So, can anyone either confirm that the game does work under Windows98 or will someone please remove that statement from your on-line purchase site.
