Game crashes when promoting coaches
I've tried promoting a pitching coach from AAA to the major leagues, and the game always crashes when I do this. Has anyone else had this problem?
I use Vista and am using OOTP 8. The problem occurrs when I try to "appoint as" a AAA pitching coach as the major league pitching coach. Below is the error that I get. Your major league pitching coach spot was empty? If so, this is a known issue. You should be able to promote him if there is another pitching coach in the major leagues to swap him with.

I'm not sure I understand your solution. Are you saying hire another coach to fill the major league spot, and then swap him with the AAA coach? I thought coaches could refuse to be demoted (which is what would happen to the new major league coach that I would sign and swap out). |

Yes, that's the only way to make it happen. You can't promote a coach or scout to an empty position without the game crashing.
