Need Help Getting Started

Hey guys I have just purchased this game and for some reason I am having issues installing mods and getting started I have not played since 6.5 and this is also the first game on my new Vista system.

I am trying to start in 1987 as the Oakland A's and import career history. I also want the game to add the new teams as they did for real in each expansion year. I also want to install all the correct logos, uniforms, ballpark and photos. Can someone please help me out and directed me where to go?
