injury.txt re-import issues?

I tried to follow the customization guide to reimport the injury.txt database.

First, the guide says that there is a file, injury.dat that will be in the save game directory, but none of my 2007 games have one.

When I re-import the injury database, I see no difference in the injuries available when I edit a player, no matter which file I am using.

Can someone help me out?

Coincidentally, I was experimenting with this today. I made changes to the injury.txt file, and re-imported it through game setup. After not noticing any of my new injuries, I changed the .txt file again (changed 'dead arm syndrome' to 'dead arm', and 'flu' to 'flu like symptoms' so I could see if the reimport worked), and reimported again. After this second reimport, I started seeing injuries from *both* versions of the .txt file, even though I'd erased the first version: some guys got 'dead arm', some guys got 'dead arm syndrome'. The new injuries I'd added, steroid and narcotics suspensions, did start to show up occasionally- I'd made them serious illnesses, and it's clear the game doesn't generate these very often (once every four years or so). So, my guess is that the reimport doesn't work as you'd want it to; instead of replacing the old injury database, it adds to it. You might also need to reimport twice, but I can't be sure. Just now, after about eight reimports, I'm noticing that some of the injuries I erased are no longer showing up, but it took a few reimports and changes to injury.txt for them to disappear; maybe there is a max number of different injuries allowed in the injury database.

While doing this, I wasn't checking the available injuries in the player editor, but I have just confirmed that the new injuries I've added are available there, along with some, but not all, of the ones I've deleted. And I can't find the injury.dat file either. I've only been testing this for a couple of hours- if you find anything out, let me know! Hope this helps...

Sounds good. However, when we do that, exactly how do we translate the injury_id field? What exists in OOTP is now neither the original file or the new file.

I've tested re-importing it so many times, I have no idea what combination of rows I have in OOTP.
