Infomation of Taiwan in OOTP 2007
Hello,
I prepared some updates about Taiwan for ootp databases. 1. the national flag and abbreviations: In OOTP 2007, the abbrevations of Taiwan is TPE, and the national flag is "tpe.png" Actually TPE is the abbreviations of Chinese Taipei, which is the designated name used by Taiwan. Similarly, the "tpe.png" is Chinese Taipei's olympic flag. There is a "tai.png" in nation_flags folder, and it's the real national flag of Taiwan. It's simple to use this icon, simply change the abbr section in row of Taiwan at "nations.txt" (from TPE to TAI) However, we usually use "TW" or "TWN" as Taiwan's abbr. So I suggest that we can change "tai.png" to "twn.png", and use TWN in "nations.txt"2. first name and name Chinese (language) romaization is different in China, Singapore, and Taiwan. China use Hanyu pinyin, and Taiwan use Tongyong pinyin. However, most Taiwanese use Wade-Giles to spell their name. For example, "West" in Tongyong pinying is "Si", in Wade-Giles is "Hsi" and in Hanyu pinyin is "Xi". Since Chinese and Singaporean are not instrested in baseball, almost all the baseball players who speak chinsese are from Taiwan, so I modified the Chinese names in "first_names.txt" "names.txt" to Wade-Giles to match the baseball world situation. (actually I prefer to add another entry in "ethnicities.txt" for Taiwanese, but it can't be done in OOTP 2007)3. the cities information Update the population info and the name (ex. Taipei Hsien -> Taipei County) of Taiwan Cities. Here is the source files for 2 and 3 http://pighead.cc/~whsyu/downloads/i...OTP-TW-1.1.zip And the patched file http://pighead.cc/~whsyu/downloads/i...ATCHED-1.1.zip Any suggestions are welcome, thanks. ![]() |
