OOTP Online Utilities Released!

I have finally released version 2 of my online utilities (called OOTPOU: OOTP Online Utilities). I have completely rewritten them, integrated all of them into one program, added a few new utilities, and hopefully made it much easier to use and install.

You can get the utilities here.
Readme can be found here.

The major change is that I've integrated all the utilities together. That means you only have to install the program once, and get you all the utilities (you just turn them on and off as you please). It also means that the login/logout applies to all the utilities, which allowed me to make the pages more smooth and add more features. And it also means that future utilities should be a lot easier to make for me.

Installation should be much easier now. There are no more setup files or any text files for you to edit; all setup is done through new Administration pages. This should mean it is a lot simpler to install and a lot simpler to maintain.

Since this is a culmination of many months (and years) of work, donations are very welcome. See the Readme for what to donate.

A quick rundown of the utilities included, as well as new features:

Allstar Utility: Have your GM's vote for their players to be in the All-star game. New features include:
  • Integrated with the login system for better security
  • New Admin page
  • New Results page
  • Multi-League Support ("The WBH feature")
  • Ability to pause, enable and disable voting
  • Ability to clear all votes
Development Utility: Track player development and watch you prospects become major league stars, and watch old veterans fall apart. The only new feature here is an Admin page.

Draft Utility: Tool to run your rookie draft. Includes draft lists, auto-drafting, and many other features to make it go fast and easy. New features:
  • Supports Feeder Leagues*
  • Multi-League Support
  • Automatic emails when picks are made
  • Better support for scouted leagues, including auto-drafting
  • Ability to Pause, Enable and Disable a Draft
  • Ability to Reset a Draft
  • Many other little tweaks
* Means I need a league to thoroughly ensure that all players in the draft pool who should show up, show up.

Note that there are a few features in the draft that I didn't get to due to time constraints, but should add in the coming month(s).

Export Tracker: Tool to monitor who's exporting and who's not. No changes since original version.

Last Sim Utility (new): Utility that displays each teams stats from the last sim, including results and next sim's upcoming games. Also displays the top games of last sim, and top performers.

Manager's Page (new): Tool that displays all the managers of the leagues, which team they run, and their contact information.

See the features in action in my online league here. Unfortunately, many new features require you to be logged in or a commish, so you'll have to take my word on it.

Comments, suggestions, bugs or features you want, feel free to let me know. Need help installing, PM me and we can work it out. Hopefully the issues should be far less now.

Sure it would work, but you would need to have access to a web server to set it up.

Quick question, can we use the old users file for this new batch of utilities or do we need to start a whole new file?

I can't seem to get the Exports page to work:
http://www.jobl.net/cgi-bin/ootpou.pl?page=export

All the other utilities seem to work, so I'm pretty sure my settings are OK.

Any ideas?

To get it to work, I had to do the full path of the directory on the server, not just the path from the domain.

Once I did that, it worked perfectly.

Yeah, I did try that. Thanks for the suggestion though...

Here's what I am using:

/home/USERNAME/wwwjoblnet/Exports

Which is this:
http://www.jobl.net/Exports/

The full path is the same basic format I use for the CSVs and HTML root settings. Those things seem to be working OK, as far as I can tell. CSVs for sure... but I have those in the main root of my account. Not sure what the HTML root setting drives, so I am not 100% sure that setting is working.

I can't log on to anything. I do not get the option to login as user or to reset passwords to baseball.

CSV files are in my cgi-bin folder.

The path is /public_html/cgi-bin/CSV

I tried it with just /cgi-bin/CSV and with public_html/etc.. and with the domain name and still doesn't give me the log in.

Any ideas?

Fixed. A lot of your parameters in the admin page were wrong. Just tidied them up.

You're missing some of the images/banners that go with the HTML reports, fyi.

Nah, if you you had the wrong Export Dir, it'd just say that no one had any exports, but the page should just show. The code is erroring for some reason... looking at it, I could see that if you were missing one of the .csv files it needed, it would show up like this. Do you have the following:

sub_leagues.csv
divisions.csv
team_relations.csv
teams.csv

If any are missing, this would happen.

The only one I don't have is team_relations.csv

I do have team_affiliations.csv though

I'll see if I set the CSV export wrong in-game...

Thanks for your help!

EDIT: yup, I missed a check box in-game. That fixed it!! Thanks again.

Version 2.0.1:

- Fixed issue where High School feeder leagues do not show up in the draft
- Added option in the Profile menu to hide contact information from users who are not logged in (aka, spambots)
- Fixed a few cosmetic things

I created a patch file, which you can get here, which you can safely unzip in your cgi-bin dir without overwriting any settings, etc. If you patch with the full file, you'll lose some saved information. New installations, of course, should take the full file.

I just installed this utility. Absolutely amazing work. You took some already good utilities and combined them into a suite that is incredibly easy to install and maintain.

Out of curiosity, how does the draft auto pick work for scouted leagues? Does it look at the ratings behind the scenes and take the best player available? Does it try to avoid taking players from the same position?

Thanks for all the hard work. I'll be posting a link to your paypal address on my forums and encouraging my owners to donate.
