Format for Stadiums and Logos

Which format is best for Stadiums and Logos?

I am getting ready to put my stadiums and logos in V2007.

I know V2007 doesn't use .bmp as in past versions.

Is .png better than .jpg?

Do the stadiums and logos have to be a certain size?

The stadiums I have are 640 x 480.

The logos are 150 x 150.

The Game Manual said the stadiums are in the .jpg format.

It said logos can be .jpg or .png format.

Is this correct?

That's my recollection, Eugene. I seem to recall that stadium format and image size has not changed at all from OOTP 6.5.

Logos are best saved in .png format - it seems to retain the best image quality along with a slightly smaller file size than a .jpg image. The .png format also eliminates the transparency issues that the .bmp format suffered from when it came to representing pure black (000000).

Thanks reds1.

I know you know your logos...you are one of the best designers.

I will use jpg.

Hopefully someone will know definitely which format to use for the stadiums.

I looked at the default stadiums in the game folder and they were .jpg.

Will .png work?

And if so, will they work better?

Will .png make the stadiums look better the way it makes logos look better?

I finally got the logo to work, but was very disappointed in the size.

Why can't they make the size of logos at least 150 x 150 so they will show up well in the game?

I just went back to the logos the game generates. They look better.

Custom logos are just too small to look good.

I put a stadium named "Derby_Downs.jpg" in the ballparks folder.
(I went to My Documents > Sports Interactive > OOTP Baseball 2007 > data > ballparks)

I then opened up the league and put "Derby Downs" as the stadium name on the team's ballpark profile editor screen.

In Picture and Coordinates I put "Derby_Downs.jpg" for Daytime Picture and Nighttime Picture. I hit "enter" as per instructions both times.

The stadium picture did not change.

Anyone have any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

What is the proper code for the stadium name?

Eugene, here are a couple of screen shots of what I did. The only real difference I can see is that I used no underscoring within the stadium names. You may want to try that.

Thanks, reds1.

I'll try that.

It looks like you only need the name of the stadium in the ballparks folder.

I hope you are right.

Simple computer tasks are many times quite a chore for me.

I now have stadiums in the game.

Many thanks reds1.

All you have to do is put the name of the stadium...without underscore between words...and add .jpg to it on the team page section in the game.

Complete procedure to install stadiums:

Put stadiums in the ballparks folder...just use the actual name of the stadium as "Yankee Stadium"...to find it go to My Documents > Sports Interative > OOTP Baseball 2007 > data > ballparks.

Then open up your league and go to the Team Page Home and Options > Click Edit Stadium (at the bottom right of screen) > Enter name of ballpark in "ballpark name" > click "pictures and coordinates" > In the "daytime picture" box enter ballpark name with .jpg added to it (be sure to hit "enter") > In the "night time picture" box enter ballpark name with .jpg added to it (be sure to hit "enter").

I don't see a spot to do select the photos on the team home page in OOTP8. Do I have to be in commish mode to do it? And if so, how do I do it if I don't want to be commish in my game?

Any advice would be appreciated. Got the logos and photos installed. Thanks for all the work on these everyone, they look great and add a lot to the game. If I can get the stadiums working, I'll be all set.
