Position ratings question

This might be a really dumb question (I am a newb), but bear with me

There's a player X, and he has the following position ratings: 2B = 7, 1B = 17

His current position is 2B and his overall rating as scouted by SISA is 4 stars.

When I try and change his position to 1B, which looks to be his preferred position, his overall rating drops to 3 stars.

Why is this?

Thanks

You can set the stars evaluation to rate based on all players in the league, or all players at that position. Yours must be set to rate by position.

I think that the place where you can change that is the same place where you decide whether to use stars or the 20-80 rating system.

You should note that there are currently some issues involving stars ratings changing when you shut the game down and restart. Until that (and other) stars issues are resolved in a future patch, you might want to switch to the 20-80 system. Or not.

There is more talent in your league at 1B than at 2B, so when you put him at 1B he doesn't look at impressive when compared to other first basemen. This is probably typical of most leagues, there are a lot of sluggers at 1B.
