Timing questions

A couple of basic timing questions:

1. When are new players created? I want to "approve" the names generated by the AI before they are used. I use an amateur draft. Are these players new to the universe created on January 1? On the start of the pre-season? When the draft list is published? I do not use feeder leagues. Where I can easily locate them?

2. When are the league modifiers, average salaries, and strategies modified if the auto-update feature is used? I think its the first day of preseason, yes?

New draft-eligible players are created when the draft pool is published, as long as you don't have feeder leagues. Sorry I can't answer qn 2.

It's not exactly an answer to your question, but might help someone else. When in a historical league, both league modifiers and rookies are created on the first day of pre-season.
