No saved games folder

I know this is gonna sound stupid but i cant find the saved games folder in the SI folder so i can load the cubby roster. I open sports interactive then ootp 2007 and the only things showing are a data folder,msvcr71.dll,elicen40.dll,reciept text document and the ootp 2007 start up icon. Im thinking that there is a setting in winxp thats hidding every thing else but a cant figure it out. Like i said before i know this is a stupid question but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

The saved games folder is a sub folder of the data folder. Just look in the data folder, it should be there. Make sure it's not the program files folder either. For instance, my saved games folder is located at Desktop>Kenny>Documents>Sports Interactive>OOTP 2007>data>saved_games.

Hope tha help, have fun.

I have the .lg folder saved in the saved_games folder. However, I can't get it to load. What am doing wrong? Please help!

OK, I'm talking PC here (not a Mac guy, sorry). Let's say you downloaded darkcloud's MLB 2007 roster file from PadreFan's OOTP mod web site.

First of all, it's in a zip file. You need to unzip it with either Windows or some other program (I use WinZip, which is a lot better than Windows). You extract the entire zip file's contents to: C:\Documents and Settings\[your login name]\My Documents\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\saved_games. (If you don't know how to do that, look up Help; I'm not going to give a tutorial on that).

These zip programs preserve folder structures, so now you see that in your saved_games folder is another folder with the .lg extension. See the first screen print. The folder called RostersV2.lg is what darkcloud saved; that's all that these rosters are, saved games. Now it's a saved game for me to open and play.

See the second screen print. The same name appears as one of the selections listed when you click Load Game on the OOTP Main Screen. You click and load it like any other game that you have saved. The third screen print shows the name of the game that I am playing, and the human manager that darkcloud created for it.

That's the best that I can do. If you are still having an issue after doing this (or if you own a Mac), try to post here (or maybe in Tech Support) with more complete details. It's difficult to help people who don't take the time to be specific with their questions and problems.

Is there a way to change the location of the saved games? I have a 300 GB portable hard drive that I would like to use for my league file.

The game manual talks about changing the "Custom User Data Path":
Quote:
Sets a custom user path for the storage of saved games and other application files. By default, these files are stored in My Documents/Sports Interactive/OOTP Baseball 2007 on a PC, and Applications/OOTP Baseball 2007/data/saved_games on a Mac. To change this value, do the following:

1. Use the Select button to browse to the path where you want to store OOTPB user data.
2. Close OOTPB.
3. Using your operating system, manually move all files from the original user data path to the new user data path.
4. Restart OOTPB.

Note: We realize this process is a little cumbersome. However, moving this many files from within the game engine would have been incredibly slow.
The setting is found on the Game Preferences page:
