AI trade then waive?

I could swear I've seen this q before, but my search didn't find it.

Solo league...I just made a trade w/ an AI managed team. I sent 4 prospects (3 from ML roster, 1 from AAA, all 4 on my 40 man) for a star pitcher. After the trade, I see that the AI team has put the 2 key prospects I traded him on irrevocable waivers. Why would this happen? I shuffled his roster to put them on the 40 man which solved it, but...is there another workaround?

Are you using a homemade roster, like Cubby's? Might have too many players with major league contracts, especially lower level prospects. Also the AI team would already have a full 40 man roster and you just tacked 3 more onto it. They probably felt they had no use for them. I see this happen quite a bit in Cubby's, so I turn off waivers like he suggests.

thanks! will turning off waivers do it, or do I have to turn off the 40 man?

Waivers helps, especially with other teams stealing prospects, but turning off 40 man rosters is no way to really play unless you want it. Basically the computer will fill up its 40 man roster with the players it wants and since there is no fix to the trading, I guess waivers is really the best patchwork job you can do. I mean it should make it much better, but it won't be perfect. Never is with user made rosters, but Cubby's is great and you can tweak the settings to enjoy it more. Just test things out. You can always post questions in his thread in the mod/rosters forum.

I like how the guy with 27 posts is advising the dude with 240 posts.

I like how the amount of posts makes a difference to you, considering the amount of post as many times as you can threads in this place.

How far back you go in the forums or how many times you post, certainly doesn't make you anymore knowledgable of the game. In my case I lurked for years, then registered an account to answer a simple question, and now have decided to post a little more. I suppose I could have been posting non stop for years, but I'm kind of lazy. Doesn't make me a bad or uninformed person...

Unless this is a society where high post counts equal the size of your...

Then if that is the case, I suppose I had best leave or forever be shamed.

I know, which is why my post simply explains rather than attacks.

Nonetheless, people with low post counts should never be placed below those with high ones. Simply put, it shouldn't measure your quality of postings. People sometimes treat it like that... I understand knowing someone better, but still, we are all posters :P

Those posts don't count toward a poster's total. Nothing in Off Topic does.

I've had this happen in my fictional setup. was a one for one trade too. I just chalked it up to a salary dump on the AI part, but don't really have an explanation for you. sorry.

Just wanted to put my 2 cents in and say that its not just Cubby's roster set.

You are right.

But...

Nonetheless, a high post count means very little. It tells you nothing of their past, their schooling, their IQ, or their qualifications to be posting to a specific thread. It does tell you who is more social or more bored than everyone else, but how important is that really?

The lesson is people with small post counts need love too.
