I need HELP!
First off, the last version of OOTP I owned was OOTP 5. I purchased OOTP 8 the other day and want to start a game using real teams/players, but I have no clue as to how to get all the logos, jerseys, ballcaps to work. I have tried using Padres fans mods and I can't get them to work in my game. To make matters worse, I am a total idiot on a computer. If someone could help me step-by-step, I know i can get it working. Thanks for any help anyone can offer!

Well since you want to use real players/teams, maybe you should consider using the MLB quickstart that came with OOTP8 to get you use to the game.

Well, I doubt that anybody here is going to be more explicit than those sets of instructions. My suggestion would be to give it a try if you know anything about files and folder management in Windows or Mac (if not, better take a course). Many of us learned by experience, trial and error, the hard way, school of hard knocks, I ramble. Cardinal Rule: Back things up by making copies. Learn how to do that, at least, before proceeding.

You can make copies with cut and paste.

my bad for thinking the quickstart came with all the logos.
So...I think the game is pretty smart when it comes to jerseys and logos. Just download what you want and put them in folders...such as put all the jersey files in one folder, all the cap logos in another. The team and league logos need to be in the .lg folder, saved games, images. Now, when it comes to editing the jersey/cap logos, all you need to do is go to the team Options/ballpark tab, select edit team colors, and you'll see 5-6 boxes at the bottom of the screen. There should be a choice in each box (there should be a box for cap, one for jersey, etc) to load a particular file. just click that button, find the one you downloaded from Padres' site, and you should be golden.
