Editing Players

How exactly do you get their ratings to reflect what you enter? I have tried making a new player two ways--create fictional player and editing an existing player.

In editing both, It asks for numbers for their ratings but when I look at the player, it uses the same ratings it had before I tried to edit them. And the ratings on the card are 1-20 and on the edit screen are 1-250.

I am very confused but if someone could help with this, I would really appreciate it.

Almost all ratings in the game are on the /200 scale. Ratings can go past 200 (up to 250) but these are only really used to get historic performances from players in certain areas. A 200 in the Editor will display as a 20/20 in the Profile.

So, if you want to enter ratings in the Editor, and you want to have some idea of what you'll see when you go back to the 1-20 display scale, just divide each number by 10. A 174 in Power, for example, should display as a 17 or an 18 (I'm not sure exactly how the game rounds off with that rating scale). The rating out of /200 is what matters for results; the rating out of /20 just rounds off the /200 rating to display it to you more conveniently.

You can use the stats projections in the Editor to get some idea of what stats different rating combinations will produce.

Thanks for the response. I did that but I found the ratings didn't change on the profile tab.

So if a guy had a rating of CON 7 it didn't matter if I put CON at 75, 150, or 25, CON was still 7. I did see the changes in the projected stats you mentioned but, again, the players actual ratings wouldn't change. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

You need to turn scouts off, or rescout the player. You won't see new ratings until you scout the player again.
