Question about team salary vs. player's contract

The team salary page, at least in my case, doesn't seem to reflect the correct length of a player's contract. I am on Dec 16, 2007 (Winter Meetings), and I have, as an example, a player who has a contract that runs through say, 2010 for $10MIL. However, on the team salary page, his contract only runs until 2009. I can show screenshots if that helps, but maybe someone can give me a hand.

Any chance the last year is an option year? what type of league is this? how long has it been running?

I don't believe it's an option year; if I just take one of the random guys on my team, he's got a signed contract that runs through 2010, after which he is a FA. How would I verify if that last year is an option year?

This is one of the PadresFan mods w/ all fictional players and feeder leagues from college and the rest of the world. I'm still in demo mode

As you can see above, Paco Garcia is signed through 2009, but the team salary page has him only through 2008.

It might just be the end of the year weirdness that OOTP has always had with financials. Once you finish actually playing the games, the financials switch over to the next year even though the calendar hasn't. Once January rolls around, it is still the same 'season' as the one you finished playing. You have to go to that magic date in February for the financials to catch up. Once you get there it should properly show him signed through 2009.
