We found a good owner for Ritchford and then lost him due to internet problems. It is now spring training, the ammy class has been published, and we need a new owner in Ritchford.

Ritchford could be competitive in a very tight division. They have some talented players, so even if they decide the season isn't going their way, they can make some trades and rebuild.

The do have a good chance at a quick turnaround, as their minor league system is ranked third in the league.

DDBL is a great league with a great commish. There are some excellent franchises, but the league is very competitive while still being good natured and a lot of fun.

This is a great league if you like fictional leagues in a fictional setting. Also, if you like the challenge of building a last place team into a winner, then the vacancy in Denton is just right for you.

Yep, another season in the books, as the Blackwood Werewolves win the series in 7.

However, Kingsbury and Stratford seek new GMs for next year. Let me know if you are interested!

Kingsbury Profile

Kingsbury won its division only one season ago. They have one of the league's best players in Catcher Woodrow Sene. They will need to build up their pitching, though, if they hope to compete in their always competitive division. Kingsbury has some money to play with as well, so they could compete this season or look to move some players and rebuild for the future.

Stratford Profile

Stratford is looking for an owner who can rebuild this franchise into a competitor. They do have some talent, but will need to fill holes in a number of positions. Fortunately, they have a load of budget room and some cash available, and even some attractive players should you be of the mind to make some deals.

Dog Days Baseball League

A great league with many excellent owners, an outstanding commish, and a great competitive balance. Additionally, the teams all have specific strengths and background that gives the league a great deal of character. I've enjoyed every minute of my two years in the league, from the two tight wild card races, right down to the playoff disappointments, player departures and rebuilding.

As the proud owner of the Murray Creek Mudcats, I must say I am really looking forward to the upcoming season in the DDBL. We are are quickly approaching spring training and now is the best time to join our enjoyable league.

Kingsbury is still looking for a new owner.

Dog Days Baseball is a fantastic online league. Beorn does a wonderful job keeping the league moving at a quick pace (generally 4 sims per week), so you actually have some incentive to build for the future because you have the opportunity to see the future play out. The league also has good competitive balance - there are no dominant dynasties throughout the league.

Join Dog Days Baseball today to catch us at the beginning of our 30th season of online fun.

One of our players are started writing an "online league game guide" filled with tips on how to manage your team. The first installment is now available on our forums, so even if you're not interested in our league (and who could not be interested in a long-running league???) you might want to drop by and check it out.

Check the "day to day discussion" section of the forum.

The owner of Seneca Point has just resigned. This is your chance to take over an established team before the AI gets a chance to trash it. We are right at the trading deadline right now.

We're headed into the playoffs as another season comes to a close, and Stratford and Seneca Point seek GMs.

Thank you for the kind words. One small correction, though -- we are a fictional, not a historical league. (It is a totally fictional world, and although the calendar currently says October 1974, there is no connection to real life eras or players.)

Also, to correct my post above, it is Kingsbury and Seneca Point that need owners as we head to our 22nd off season this coming week.

Seneca Point lost a long time solid owner recently. The team won it all three years back and that was their third consecutive appearance in the championship series. They slumped to last place this season, though, a middle of the road hitting team, but a poor pitching staff. They have the best catcher in the league, and he is still young; next season is his walk season, but he is probably signable, since he is happy in Seneca Point. The first question facing the new owner will be whether to trade him for rebuilding material, or whether to sign him to a long term but expensive contract. The second question will involve money... The team overspent and has at least a short term cash problem, although payroll for the coming season is much lower, and that will open up a lot of options. The third question -- more an issue to be addressed -- is how to utilize the team's built in advantage (every team has one in this league). Seneca Point has an edge when using older players, so the new GM will have to decide whether to rebuld the "normal" way through youth, or whether to try to acquire some aging veterans, who are often undervalued in OOTP leagues. Overall, it will be tough to win immediately, but this team is far from hopeless.

Kingsbury has been one of the 2-3 neglected teams in the league, and this is a job for an intrepid rebuilder. The team didn't hit at all this year, but the pitchers were vastly worse, with a team ERA of 5.89! Outside of a good catcher and an overpaid third baseman who finished the year on DL, there isn't much to work with on the returning major league roster. (At least there are some decent prospects in the minors.) The money situation is improving, and the league office would consider assisting in this area, but still overall this team is going to take work and patience, especially given the team's built in edge of free agent signing may not be practical for a while.

Halfway through another season, and Ritchford, Yancey, and Denton all need GMs.

Great league with a great pace (4 sims per week). Beorn runs a tight ship keeps the league pushing forward. I didn't like fictional leagues until I ran across this league. Now it is the best online experience I have ever had. Come join the fun now.

Yancey is a great opportunity, currently still in first place in the division with plenty of young talent in the organization. Denton is also only 0.5 games out in June in a division that is up for grabs.

See you at Dog Days Baseball !!!!!!!!
