Just to make it official, BDog is now our Co-Commish so consider his answers almost as if I had written them... just less urbane, intelligent, smart, funny, humorous and witty.

We have just one spot remaining in the league...the St. Louis Browns.

The inaugural draft is scheduled to start Monday, June 4, so now's the time to claim the final franchise.

A couple of questions if I may:

1. League Rules - Two weeks of game time per sim. Any thought of making it 15 days in order to stay in line with the DL?

2. Any idea what in game settings you'll be using for ratings, injuries, fatigue, moral, and other options?

3. Will the Forums expand eventually to include seperate forums for Trades, Drafts, General Talk, etc?

4. Will you be following real baseball team moves, expansion, etc.

5. What, if any, will the financials be set to. Will there be FA, or not until 1975?

Thanks....looks like a very solid league. Nice web site too, my compliments to the designer.

Yes, that's our intention. Probably poorly worded on the website, but we plan on simming 15 days at a time.

Yes, we've hammered most of those out, but unfortunately I killed the first version of the website and we haven't gotten the complete list back up. We're using stars for overall ratings and 1-10 for numeric ratings. Injuries will be enabled, as will fatigue and morale. We've decided against using the Recalc feature, to keep some mystery in the league regarding expected player performance. If there are other options you are curious about, let me know. I hope to have a full list of league rules up on the website within a day or so.

Yes, absolutely. We've kept things consolidated during the recruitment phase, but we are very focused on having an active and lively league.

We have no plans for expansion or team relocations at this point. We'd like to take these 16 franchises and play out an alternate history for awhile. I'm not saying never, but it wasn't the original idea for the league. If, however, the Braves absolutely want to move to Milwaukee, we'll certainly discuss it...it just won't be automatic.

Free agency from the get-go. As for financials, we will endeavor to keep it fair and realistic. There is no appetite for a salary cap, but we may institute a cash cap to keep things under control. As for the other settings, if you have a specific question, I'll check the file.

Thanks. I think we've got a great group of owners...real baseball buffs...so this should be fun. We'd love to have you join us, so let me know if you're interested.

Ok, thanks for the quick reply.

Just another question or two.

1. Coaches/Scouts - on or off?

2. Trading - what's allowed and what isn't? Players/Cash/Picks.

3. I take it ghost players will be enabled since there won't be enough players to fill three levels of minors?

4. Is it possible to download the league file and check it out or do I need a password.

Thanks again.

1. Coaches and scouts both off.
2. I don't know that we've gotten that detailed on trading, but I don't see why not to trading players, cash, and/or picks.
3. Yes, ghost players are enabled.
4. I'll PM you regarding #4.

I'm interested in taking over a team if there's still one available. Sorry I didn't mention it sooner, I kinda forgot about this thread and have been busy the past few days.

Unfortunately, as of BruceM claiming the Browns this afternoon, we're full up.

I'll let you know if someone drops out before Monday's draft starts.

Sorry.

You're officially the first on the waiting list. Now you just have to hope we remember this thread ourselves.

Our New York Yankees owner has stepped down, so we are looking for a replacement.

We are getting ready to start the 1931 season (our second), so now's the perfect time for someone new to take the helm of the Bronx Bombers.

A bit of background about the OBL:
Historical league using real players
Inaugural draft conducted prior to 1930 season
15-day sims three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday)
Active website and message boards

You can check out the HTML reports here.

You needn't be an OOTP veteran, but we are looking for a committed owner who will actively manage the franchise and participate in league discussions.

Interested? Great. Post here or PM me with questions or for more details.

Our St. Louis Browns owner has stepped down now as well. Feel free to PM Bdog or myself or post here if you're interested. Experienced owners are preferred, but we'll almost take anybody. We took Bdog, after all.

The Browns are gone, but it looks like we have two non-responsive owners so consider the Washington Senators and Chicago Cubs up for grabs now.

Every league seems to drop several owners after that first season. What doesn't kill you...
